Missed it?

Last week, we shared the story of Army veteran Tim Jervis, who recently became a British Business Bank Start Up Loans Ambassador after building Salt Pig Sandwiches with support accessed through X-Forces Enterprise.

Tim's story shows what's possible when the right idea meets the right support. But long before funding, many founders need help shaping ideas, building confidence and understanding their options.

That's where our workshops, training and business support programmes come in.

Whether you're exploring self-employment or preparing for growth, we're here to help you take the next step.

You don't have to start where Tim finished.

Not every founder begins with a business that's ready for funding.

Not every founder becomes an ambassador, but every founder starts somewhere.

Tim Jervis secured a Start Up Loan and mentoring support to launch Salt Pig Sandwiches. Less than a year later, he's helping inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

If you're considering self-employment and wondering what support might be available, now could be the time to explore your options.

A year ago, Tim Jervis was preparing to open Salt Pig Sandwiches with support from a British Business Bank Start Up Loan and mentoring through X-Forces Enterprise.

As you saw yesterday, he's been named the 2026 Armed Forces Community Start Up Loans Ambassador.

His story is a reminder that successful businesses rarely happen overnight. They grow through support, hard work and a willingness to take that first step.

We are so proud of Tim and delighted to see him named a British Business Bank Ambassador.

Tim represents exactly what we believe in: the right support can make a real difference. We’ve been proud to support him with his business plan, funding, mentoring and coaching as he built his business.

His story is a powerful reminder that success rarely comes from one thing alone. It takes the right advice, practical support, finance and encouragement.

We hope Tim’s ambassadorship inspires others to take their next step and discover the support available to help them succeed by being part of the XFE Community.
