NEW REUSE OPPORTUNITY AT RE3 RECYCLING CENTRES!
You can now return unwanted home support equipment so it can be refurbished, reused and help someone else in our community. Please look for a special cages at re3 sites!
If you have items provided by Millbrook Healthcare or NRS Healthcare, such as crutches, walking frames, shower stools or raised toilet seats, don't throw them away - give them a second life.
All smaller medical aid items can be dropped off at the re3 Recycling Centres in Bracknell and Reading. Please ensure they're clean and still have their identification sticker attached.
If you have any larger equipment such as beds or chairs, Millbrook Healthcare offers a free home collection service.

👮🚓 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺?

Every neighbourhood across the Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing Team working with residents and partner organisations to make our communities safer. Their role includes reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, bringing offenders to justice, protecting vulnerable people, tackling violence against women and girls, improving support for victims, and building public confidence.

These teams are dedicated to being visible in the community, listening to residents, tackling local issues, and helping to build safer, stronger and more resilient neighbourhoods.

The West Reading Safer Neighbourhood Forum (SNF) provides residents across 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘁 with a direct link to officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from TVP Reading's 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗧𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘁 and 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗲 & 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘁 Neighbourhood Policing Teams. The forum gives local people the opportunity to raise concerns, share ideas and help shape the policing priorities that matter most to their communities.

🚧 **Temporary Road Closure – Oak Tree Road (29 July – 4 August 2026)** 🚧

Residents are advised that **Oak Tree Road will be temporarily closed outside No. 71** from **Wednesday 29 July until Tuesday 4 August 2026**.

**Why is the road being closed?**
Thames Water will be carrying out essential works to install new customer connections. This requires excavation and a road crossing between **Nos. 71 and 68 Oak Tree Road**, and the closure is needed to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.

🛣️ **Diversion Route**
A signed diversion will be in place via:
• Kentwood Hill
• Armour Road
• Westwood Road

The works are expected to take **five working days**. However, if unforeseen engineering issues arise, the temporary traffic order allows the closure to remain in place or for Thames Water to return to complete the works if necessary.

Emergency Services and Reading's Taxi Associations have been notified.

This week is Antisocial Behaviour Awareness Week, and I want to hear from you.

Everyone has the right to feel safe where they live, so I’m proud that this government has brought in new powers through the Crime and Policing Act to crack down on antisocial behaviour including the scourge of illegal e-bikes, e-scooters and off road bikes.

And, I’m continuing to work with the police and local councils to make sure that resources of being targeted where they are most needed.

Caversham Bridge will be closed in both directions for resurfacing this Friday night (26 June).

Bridge Street will be under a full road closure between its junctions with Caversham Road and Church Street between 7pm – 1am for one night only.

The junction between Church Road and Church Street will remain open

Traffic will be diverted via Reading Bridge during the closure.

Further works such as re-lining and road markings will follow.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to the hot weather expected next week, waste collection crews will start their rounds at 5am to avoid the hottest part of the day. Crews will do their best to not cause any unnecessary noise and disturbance.

Please make sure your bin is out by that time to ensure you don't miss your collection.

I’m delighted to be helping organise Turn Tilehurst Red this year ❤️

This event has run with an amazing team of volunteers for a number of years and has helped bring Tilehurst together and it is an honour to help support it this year.

It will be taking place on Friday 6th November, 8am to 5pm, at Tilehurst Triangle, raising funds for the Tilehurst British Legion.
