A huge thank you to everyone at Sonning Gardens Care Home - Avery Collection in the recent fundraising efforts in support of Royal Berks Charity šŸ’œ

We’re so grateful for the generous donation raised through the raffle and tombola stall — support like this helps make a real difference for patients, staff and our local community.

We’re also delighted to hear that all money raised from this year’s Summer Fair on Saturday 4th July will once again be donated to Royal Berks Charity. Thank you for your continued support and kindness — we can’t wait to see what this year’s event achieves!

The Royal Berks Charity Big Bake is back… and this year it’s a big one!

We’re celebrating 30 years of Royal Berks Charity, and we’d love you to be part of it!

Whether you fancy baking something from scratch or picking up a few treats from the shop (we won’t judge šŸ‘€), it’s all about coming together, sharing some cake, and raising money for a really good cause.

Host a bake sale at work, invite friends over for coffee, or just bring in something sweet to share - every little bit helps.

There’s something pretty special about cake bringing people together… and this year, it’s helping us celebrate 30 years of supporting patients and staff at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

So go on - get involved, get baking (or buying!), and help us make it a celebration to remember.

Meet Sam - Data and Income Administrator at Royal Berks Charity

Sam is one of the lovely people behind the scenes making sure the money raised by our brilliant fundraisers gets to the right place - which is slightly more technical than ā€œcharity money wizardā€, but only slightly.

A big part of Sam’s role involves sorting income reports and making sure donations are allocated correctly, helping every pound raised support the area it was intended for.

When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Sam said it’s working with so many incredible people - which we’ll happily take as a compliment.

As for what people might not realise about her role? Sam is still discovering that herself. In her words, ā€œI’m sure there are lots of things I don’t realise I do yet.ā€ Relatable, frankly.

A highlight so far has been attending the Royal Berks Charity quiz night and, importantly, not embarrassing herself. Next on the list: meeting Frankie the Fox in person.

For Sam, the charity’s work matters because it helps make some of the toughest moments in people’s lives a little easier - something she describes as remarkable.

Outside of work, Sam is an avid F1 fan, spends an unreasonable amount of time cleaning cat fur from places her cat definitely shouldn’t have been, is attempting to learn Japanese with ā€œlittle successā€, and loves the cinema and theatre.

Equipment can change the experience of care for patients when they need it most.

Through our 30th Anniversary Equipment Appeal, your donations could help fund specialist equipment across Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust — including equipment like a breast screening machine.

A machine like this can support high-quality imaging, helping clinical teams detect concerns earlier and provide patients with answers, reassurance and care as quickly as possible.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to funding equipment that could make a real difference for local patients.

Please support our 30th Anniversary Equipment Appeal today.

This year, Royal Berks Charity is celebrating 30 years of supporting patients, families and staff across the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

To mark this milestone, we’ve launched our 30th Anniversary Equipment Appeal, raising funds for specialist equipment that can make a real difference across our hospitals.

From improving diagnosis and treatment, to supporting comfort, recovery and care, the right equipment can have a lasting impact on patients when they need it most.

A donation today will help us continue funding the extras that go above and beyond what the NHS can provide — supporting our local hospital community now, and for years to come.

Please donate to our 30th Anniversary Equipment Appeal and help us make a difference where it matters most.

Meet Yousef, one of our amazing Event Ambassadors! From supporting charity events to welcoming attendees and spreading awareness, Yousef plays a huge part in helping create positive experiences and inspiring others to get involved.

For Yousef, one of the best parts of volunteering is meeting new people and hearing their stories - and seeing the community come together to support local hospital care.

We’re so grateful for volunteers like Yousef who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to support Royal Berks Charity and the patients and staff at Royal Berkshire Hospital.

ā˜• Tea order: Tea with a splash of honey
✨ Fun fact: Yousef loves organising everything - even colour coding notes!
