Olive Branch Fostering has a vision to offer every child in our care an opportunity to grow and develop in a loving and nurturing environment. We want to meet the increasing demands for safe and loving households for children and young people across England by offering Local Authorities a selection of placement choices with foster carers from diverse backgrounds and skills sets. We believe very st

rongly in making a positive social impact and these beliefs are deeply rooted within our organisation to really make a difference to the lives of children and young people, and also our carers. Our commitment to help looked after children in our communities is at the centre of everything we do. It is because of this ‘child centred approach’ that we really do our best to support our foster carers to look after the children in our care. Did you know?

Around half of sibling groups in care are separated when they enter the care system.

For many children, their siblings are their strongest source of comfort, familiarity, and support during difficult times. Staying together can help children feel safer, more secure, and less alone during a huge change in their lives.

That’s why there is such a need for foster carers who can care for brothers and sisters together and help keep those important family bonds strong.

While many are enjoying a well deserved break with family and friends we also want to remind you that support at Olive Branch Fostering is always here every day including bank holidays.

Fostering doesn’t stop and neither do we.

Half Term is here! ☀️💚

If you’re looking for ideas to keep children and young people entertained this week, here are some favourite activities across the North West of England👇

🌊 Enjoy a day at the seaside in Southport or Blackpool with arcades, beach walks and fresh air
🌿 Explore nature trails and parks like Heaton Park in Manchester or Beacon Fell in Preston

As Foster Care Fortnight comes to a close we’re sharing an important reminder you don’t have to be perfect 💚

Fostering isn’t about perfection it’s about presence. It’s the small consistent moments that help children and young people feel safe supported and valued.

Consistency will always matter more than getting everything right.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to show up keep going and offer a steady caring home where a child can feel secure and understood.

If you’ve been considering fostering remember this you don’t have to be perfect to make a lasting difference you just have to be you 💚

❓ Do I need experience to become a foster carer?

No experience is needed at all 💚

Many of our foster carers start their journey without any prior experience of fostering or formal childcare. What matters most is your ability to provide a safe, stable and caring home for a child or young person.

At Olive Branch Fostering, we provide full training, guidance, and ongoing support to help you feel confident every step of the way.

Fostering is a learning journey, and we’ll be with you throughout it 💚

💚The number of foster carers in England has fallen by around 5,000 since 2022, yet more children and young people than ever are needing safe and supportive foster homes.

That’s why this year’s Foster Care Fortnight theme, “This is Fostering,” is so important.

Fostering is about being there for children when they need stability, care, guidance, and a place to feel safe 🏡

Behind every fostering journey is the chance to change a young person’s future — and right now, more foster carers are urgently needed.
