This weekend, Ewan ticked off his first ever crowdsurf at Krankenhaus Festival - proof that the stress of running events does occasionally come with perks!

Now in its sixth year at Muncaster, Krankenhaus somehow keeps getting better and better. This year saw the return of the wonderful Sea Power, who very much feel part of the Muncaster family, alongside Charlotte Church and a brilliant line-up of bands and artists.

Safe to say Ewan fully embraced the festival spirit…

THAT’S A WRAP ON THE MUNCASTER FRINGE 2026!

Throughout August, Muncaster has been filled with live music, theatre, poetry, art, workshops, talks, puppetry and plenty of things we’d never tried here before.

From world-class musicians and brand-new performances to mud-covered hands, art pianos, felt flowers, microscopes, puppets and packed-out rooms, it’s been brilliant seeing so many different people bring their talents, ideas and creativity to Muncaster.

A huge thank you to every artist, performer, musician, speaker, maker and member of Team Muncaster who made it happen and, of course, to everyone who came L: along, took part, tried something new and supported The Muncaster Fringe 2026.

We would love your feedback about the events. Head over to this form to share your experiences of Fringe 2026: https://bit.ly/4gJL9q2

Plans for 2027 are already in motion... watch this space!

What an amazing evening we had at Minding the Heavens at Muncaster Parish Hall on Wednesday!

This brand-new musical with puppets, inspired by the remarkable story of Caroline Herschel and her family, was written by our very own Joshua Payne and brought to life by a cast and crew of familiar faces from Team Muncaster.

A very special first outing for a completely new piece of musical theatre - and one we were incredibly proud to see come to life right here at Muncaster.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and supported the performance!

TOMORROW EVENING!...

You may already have heard the talents of Joshua Payne at Music of Moss, his piano performances and other Muncaster events – now he has written a brand-new musical theatre production inspired by the remarkable story of the Herschel family.

Featuring some familiar faces from Team Muncaster, Minding the Heavens is written by Joshua Payne and stars Joshua alongside Kym Armstrong and Chloe Pinney, with puppetry by Ellie Douglas.

Combining music, puppetry and storytelling, this special workshop performance offers an early glimpse at a new show in development, inspired by the extraordinary Herschel family and their discoveries that changed our understanding of the universe.

Following the performance, stay for a fascinating talk exploring the real lives and legacy of the Herschels.
