Kent Police to take action on ASB throughout the summer season. Let’s hope that will prevent further problems in Thanet.

Waste disposal has been an issue ever since mankind lived in caves. With increased consumerism, packaging, fast food outlets and mobility, rubbish has spread everywhere. It is a multi-agency problem and all must work together, as we all must to tackle the problem.

Great to see Reform UK have teamed up with Clean Up Britain to tackle Fly-tipping and Litter. Kent County Council have organised a Kent wide conference for 10th July and our local councillors are already doing their bit for Thanet.

Kent County Council will host a countywide fly‑tipping conference – the first of its kind - on 10 July. The conference will bring together councils, enforcement agencies, landowners and the waste industry to take coordinated action against fly‑tipping and waste crime.

Reform councillors step forward to help local man doing his bit for Thanet and slapped with a parking fine.

Today, Cllr Marc Rattigan and Cllr Barry Manners were delighted to meet Geoff and hand over the £275 generously donated by local residents following the unfair fine he received while volunteering to clear litter from the Lido car park.

This fantastic response shows the very best of Thanet. When one of our volunteers was treated unfairly, local people stepped forward to help. We would like to thank everyone who donated and showed their support.

Volunteers like Geoff make a huge difference to our community. They give up their own time to help keep our neighbourhoods clean, tidy and welcoming. They often help fill gaps where public services are stretched, and their contribution deserves recognition and encouragement.

As councillors, we greatly value the work of volunteers across Thanet. We believe all public bodies and agencies should do everything possible to support, motivate and encourage those who give their time freely for the benefit of others—not create obstacles that discourage them.

Thank you, Geoff, for everything you do for our community, and thank you to everyone whose generosity made this possible.

Have your say.

In January, the Government confirmed its intention to reform policing by reducing the current 43 police forces into a smaller number of larger, regional forces. The proposals form part of a wider ambition to move from a locally led policing model to a more centralised approach.

An Independent Review is now being carried out to advise the Government on how these proposed police mergers should be taken forward. However, the review is not seeking the views of the public, meaning it remains unclear how much public support exists for such significant changes to local policing.

Kent Police PCC has issued a survey to determine the thoughts of residents. The survey will close on Tuesday the 9th so not much time to comment. See the survey here;

Doing my bit for Thanet, in Ramsgate. Not much but it started to rain.
Sadly it made little difference as the gutters are clogged with muck, dirt and blocked drains. The weeds don’t help.
