Our aims:
To encourage and empower local people to achieve their full potential
To provide information advice and guidance on a range of subjects to meet the needs of our community
To deliver a programme of social action, community provision and activities to tackle the effects of poverty, lack of opportunities and social/economic barriers faced by local residents, children, young people and the
ir families. Education & Skills - a range of employability programmes and activities aimed at increasing skills and access to other educational or career opportunities
2. We work on topics such as citizenship, bullying, antisocial behaviour, sexual health, drugs and alcohol misuse and environmental issues.
3. We run a detached team of workers that engage with young people in parks and on the streets, with the aim of providing information advice and guidance and referrals to positive opportunities
4. We provide a play scheme during each of the school holidays for children aged 5 - 12 that includes.
5. Social Action - we support & facilitate projects and activities on behalf of local people and young people; such as trips, heritage projects and environmental projects.
6. We offer a range of work experience and volunteering programmes, including Apprenticeships to further individuals skills and careers in youth and community work.
7. We run a Food Hub, known as Team Foodshare. The food hub operates a number of projects and services, including a food club called The Social Supermarket (TM), emergency food parcels, Social Eating events and a Youth Community Fridge
