This week the children have been busy making some delicious egg and dairy free cupcakes 🧁, in preparation for a special coffee morning with our lovely Playhouse community!
The children loved measuring, pouring, stirring and mixing our ingredients together. We had lots of fun learning about quantities, following a recipe and, of course, enjoying the delicious results yum yum 😋

Messy play is more than making a mess..

For babies, it’s a chance to touch, squeeze, explore, discover and experience new textures while developing sensory awareness, fine-motor skills, coordination and curiosity.

The mess can be cleaned up but the learning experience is priceless.

Save these ideas for your next baby sensory play session.

🍃 The children have had a fabulous time exploring the natural resources available to us in our wonderful local environment! They have created flower potions, practised sequencing, built towers and forts, and used conkers to make unique and colourful artwork 🎨. Lots of creativity, imagination and fun this week at Playhouse! 💐 😁

This week we have explored the wonderful resource that is bubble wrap 🫧!

Bubble wrap is not only a fun and engaging resource, it also supports our fine motor skills through that satisfying pop! It encourages creativity, helps children explore cause and effect and provides opportunities for language development as the children describe what they see 👀, hear👂and feel ✋️

Really sad to hear about the passing of David Hockney yesterday. In amongst the many tributes was this quote of his which speaks volumes, not only about his own life and work but also about ours.

Play is who you are. And have a great weekend being playful, Play People 💛
