3 of our Year 8 pupils have had a fantastic day of athletics at wentworth Leisure Centre today competing in the High School County Athletics Championships. Finlay won the 75m hurdles and finished 4th in HIgh Jump with a PB of 1.60, Owen won discus and finished 3rd in Shot Putt and Martha won 1500m. They now all progress to the inter county championships next Saturday. What a superb achievement , very proud of you all.

A superb afternoon of athletics at OMS today at our Prudhoe Area Athletics Competition. Pupils across year 5/6/7/8 took part in a range of track events and Long Jump trying to gain qualification for the area championships next Thursday at Wentworth Leisure Centre. Everyone who finished in the top 3 will now progress to Area Championships. Well done to everyone who took part.

It was great to have our KS3 cricket teams in action tonight against Highfield Middle School. Each team got to play 2 fixtures across the evening. There was lots of fantastic fielding and great batting. Well done to everyone who took part.

As part of their Junior Duke Award, Evelyn, Izzy and Sophie went to Wylam First school this morning to read and perform Room on the Broom to the reception class. They did an amazing job and passed the challenge with flying colours! The reception children absolutely loved their story.

OMS has won first place out of all of the schools in the Northumberland County Show Art Competition! A huge well done to everyone that entered a piece of their art work. A special shout out to the individual prize winners: 3rd place went to Isabelle W in Year 7, 2nd to Isabelle F in Year 8 and 1st place went to Isla D in Year 7. Well done everyone! Also a huge thank you to Mrs Lowes for inspiring our young artisits and for organising the OMS entries.
