🌟 Proud to Support Civic Sunday🌟

Our Police Cadets came together from Preston, South Ribble, Blackburn with Darwen and Burnley units and were proud to take part in the Mayor’s Civic Sunday Parade and Service in Chorley, joining organisations from across the community to support this special civic occasion. Special thank you to Mayor, Councillor Debra Platt for her kind invitation.

Marching through the town and attending the service at St Laurence’s Church was a fantastic experience, highlighting the unity, pride, and commitment of our young people.

Well done to all our cadets who represented the unit with professionalism and respect throughout the day 👏

Thank you to Sophie and Chloe for a very insightful session on Wednesday evening. Cadets really enjoyed the interactive input.

👮‍♀️✨ Chloe and Sophie had a fantastic session with the Lancashire Police Cadets at Hutton Headquarters on Wednesday evening! ✨👮‍♂️

During the session, they explored:
🔹 Different types of substances
🔹 Drug classifications and categories
🔹 Harm reduction strategies
🔹 Education and awareness around substance use

It was a great opportunity to engage with young people, answer questions, and provide information to help them make informed choices. 💙

🌟 A Proud Moment for Our Cadets 🌟

This morning our High Sheriff Cadet Connor from our Preston unit proudly represented Lancashire VPC at a special Service of Thanksgiving held at Lancaster Castle, marking the occasion of the Shield Hanging for the High Sheriff of Lancashire, Mr David Collinge DL.

This prestigious event was a fantastic opportunity to be part of a historic tradition, showcasing the dedication, professionalism, and confidence of our young people.

Well done to Cadet Connor for representing the unit so brilliantly—an experience to remember and a credit to the cadet programme! 👏

Last week, our South Ribble Police Cadets had a fantastic visit from PD Trevor and his handler, Sue 🐾
Cadets had the opportunity to learn about the vital role police dogs play in keeping our communities safe, as well as seeing Trevor’s skills and training in action. From searching to tracking, it was a great insight into the work these incredible teams do every day.
A big thank you to Sue and PD Trevor for taking the time to visit – our cadets thoroughly enjoyed it! 👏

Our Preston Cadets recently took part in a powerful and thought‑provoking session exploring how choices can shape lives, communities, and futures.

Through real‑life examples and honest discussion, cadets learned about responsibility, decision‑making, and the impact of actions – an important life lesson both in and out of uniform.

👏 A huge Thank you to Tim for delivering such an impactful and inspiring input. Experiences like this help our cadets grow into confident, thoughtful, and responsible young people.

🎉 **What an amazing session for our Cadets!** 🎉

Preston Cadets were absolutely delighted to welcome Mat and Tom from the Ambulance Service last week, as part of the **Stop the Bleed** campaign 🩸

Our Cadets had the opportunity to learn vital, life‑saving skills – from controlling severe bleeding to confidently using first aid equipment and responding to emergency situations. The engagement, enthusiasm and willingness to learn on display was fantastic to see! 🩹🚑

Sessions like this don’t just teach practical skills – they build confidence, resilience and a real sense of responsibility for looking out for others in the community.

👏 A huge THANK YOU to Mat and Tom for taking the time to educate, inspire and empower our young people. What a brilliant experience for everyone involved!

Recently, South Lancs Police cadets received a powerful and deeply moving input from Beckie Ramsay, who courageously shared the story of her son Dylan, who tragically lost his life after drowning in a quarry.
Beckie’s presentation highlighted the hidden and often underestimated dangers of open water swimming, particularly in quarries – including cold water shock, unseen depths, unstable edges and the false sense of security these locations can give.
Her honesty and strength gave cadets a real understanding of the lifelong impact these incidents have on families and communities, and reinforced the vital role policing and prevention play in protecting lives.
We are extremely grateful to Beckie for sharing Dylan’s story to help educate others and prevent further tragedies. It is a reminder that behind every incident is a family forever changed.
Please think twice, stay safe around open water, and help us spread this lifesaving message. Thanks also to Phil from Aquaeye who talked about searching underwater and the equipment used.

Congratulations to the High Sheriff Police Cadets who attended the Installation Ceremony of the new High Sheriff, Mr David Collinge DL, at County Hall this morning.

A special well done to Harvie (Lancaster and Morcambe) and Connor (Preston), who have been formally selected as High Sheriff Cadets for the forthcoming year — a fantastic achievement.
