We had the absolute pleasure of attending a wonderful unveiling of the new bronze sculptures of Edith Rigby and Richard Arkwright this evening with the wonderful people of Preston 💜🤍 💚big thanks to Peter Hodgkinson for creating such amazing sculptures and to Wilf Boardman for funding them!

Preston ought to be very Proud tonight! 💙🩵

(Of course in all the fangirling over Edith we didn’t get a pic of Richard, woops)

Happy International Women’s Day - we had a great time at The Harris celebrating with Phoebe Foxtrot.
Thanks to Kyra @ The Harris and the wonderful Rachael of both ourselves and Preserving Preston’s Heritage.

A special thank you to all of the wonderful people who dropped in to see us, made a rosette, shared a memory, said hello… you’re all nothing short of inspiring! The Preston WSPU women are having the revival they always deserved. 💜💚🤍

Our page in the ‘Share Her Story’ community memory book; an entry of the names of all the men and women who we have found to have been members of or facilitated the activism of the Preston Branch of the WSPU.

We are Friends of Edith Rigby, but we must remember the FRIENDS of Edith Rigby, the other members of the group and community that made its activism possible.

As always, names are subject to change with further research and submissions!

It's the second day of the Share Her Story event as part of International Women's Day.

The Friends of Edith Rigby group move into The Harris from 11.30am until 3.30pm and everyone is invited to come and share the story of a woman who has shaped their life and our communities too.

Free to attend, just drop in and add your memories to the Community Memory Book which will help preserve the legacy of women's stories for future generations. 💜💜
