We are delighted to welcome Dr Azhar Fareed to our Private GP service at Fulwood Hall Hospital.

Dr Fareed qualified as a doctor in 2005 and brings over 15 years’ experience in NHS general practice, with a strong track record in managing both acute and long-term conditions. As a GP Partner, he is well connected to local healthcare services, supporting seamless and efficient patient care.

His clinical interests include:

• General Practice
• Diabetes
• Weight Management
• Musculoskeletal and Joint Injections
• Family Planning – including contraceptive advice and subdermal implants

Dr Fareed is known for his calm and reassuring approach, taking the time to truly listen and understand each patient’s concerns. His consultations are thoughtful and unhurried, providing personalised care that ensures every patient feels supported and confident in their healthcare journey.

*Clinics available on alternate Friday mornings. First clinic available - 26th June 2026*

It’s been a fantastic week full of wellbeing-focused activities, including hand massages, mindfulness sessions, wellness walks, Tea & Talk catch-ups, and even chair yoga – all designed to support our amazing staff.

Taking time to look after our mental health is so important, and creating opportunities to connect, share, and support one another makes a real difference.

This afternoon, our Business Relations Manager Hayley Humphries, alongside Physiotherapist Abdullah Patel and Physiotherapy Student Jack Tootell, had the pleasure of attending Preston North End Football Club to support one of their fantastic community sessions, PNE v Cancer.

This inspiring programme, delivered twice weekly by the Community and Education Trust, focuses on cancer pre-habilitation and rehabilitation, supporting adult patients to improve their health and fitness both before and after their cancer treatment.

We were privileged to join today’s session and explore how we can best support this incredible initiative. Our Physiotherapist, Abs, offered one-to-one advice to participants experiencing MSK concerns, providing valuable support and guidance.

We also had a great discussion with Health & Wellbeing Coordinator Nathan Brunskill around future collaboration and have already identified several ways we can contribute to and enhance this important service.

We’re proud to be involved and look forward to supporting this wonderful health and wellbeing provision going forward 💙
