Operating from thirty-nine fire stations across the county, with our headquarters at Fulwood, Preston and our Leadership and Development Centre (Washington Hall) at Euxton. With temperatures rising this Sunday, many of us will be making the most of the sunshine.

Whatever your plans, a few simple choices can help keep you and others safe.

Looking to cool off? Open water can be dangerously cold, even on the hottest days. If you fancy a swim, choose a swimming pool instead.

Planning a day outdoors? Swap the BBQ for a picnic. Dry conditions mean it only takes one spark to start a wildfire.

Our crew from Chorley Fire Station have been out and about in the community carrying out a variety of activities. 🚒

We managed to capture some great action shots from off-site training, where firefighters practised using the roof ladder to maintain vital operational skills. On returning to station, the crew headed straight to the drill yard for more training, this time pitching the 13.5m ladder to continue developing teamwork, confidence and competence.

Training plays a huge part in ensuring our firefighters remain ready to respond whenever the community needs us.

Earlier this week, Chief Fire Officer Jon Charters has congratulated County Councillor Ged Mirfin on his reappointment as Chair of the Lancashire Combined Fire Authority, and welcomed County Councillor Luke Parker as Vice Chair.

County Councillor Mirfin said:
“It is a real privilege to be reappointed as Chair of the Lancashire Combined Fire Authority. I remain committed to working with members across the Authority, alongside the Chief Fire Officer and the Service, to ensure we continue delivering a high-performing fire and rescue service for the people of Lancashire.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has a strong reputation for excellence, and I look forward to building on this success, supporting our staff and ensuring we continue to provide the best possible service to our communities.”

Almost half of those who lose their lives in water-related incidents never intended to enter the water.

This , we're highlighting the hidden dangers of rivers, canals and the coast, and sharing simple advice that could save your life or someone else's.

If you fall into the water, fight your instinct to panic and Float to Live.

And if someone else is in trouble, always stay on the bank, call 999 and ask for Fire and Rescue, or the Coastguard if you're at the coast.

With Toy Story 5 hitting cinemas today, even the newest toys need to stay powered up safely…

Lithium-ion batteries power so much of what we use (phones, tablets, scooters, toys, and more) and unsafe charging can be a fire risk.

* Always use the correct charger
* Always charge devices on a flat, hard surface (never on beds or sofas)
* Don’t leave devices plugged in after they’re fully charged
* Never charge batteries on your escape route or in hallways

Because when we look after each other, we stay safe....
as they say, you’ve got a friend in me..

Last week Wesham Fire Station, said goodbye to Crew Manager Phillips after 31 years of service.

Over his career, he helped keep his community safe and set a standard at the station that will outlast his retirement.

Let’s give a big round of a-paw-lus to our newest wellbeing dog and handler teams!

After graduating at their passing out parade, Noodle, Milo, Charlie, Humphrey, Floki, Alan and Stanley have officially joined Benson in supporting colleague wellbeing across the Service. 🐶❤️

In keeping with Fire Service tradition, we introduced the inaugural Silver Paw Award for the most improved dog and handler team, with Humphrey and his handler Phil taking home the honours.

Here’s to plenty of wagging tails and a paws-itive impact on our people! 🐾🐶
