(Most) of the winners of the Golden Spatula awards. Yes, I spray painted spatulas (for leaflet delivery) gold and gave them to our wonderful campaigners. Categories include Supermodel of the world (best campaign photos), The Third Horse (double squeeze campaign), Postman Pat (most leaflets delivered and the prestigious Alan Hackett award for relentless campaigning.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out this year. Your efforts are appreciated!

Well that was interesting. Got home from a meeting to find a cow at the end of the drive. It’s been for a jolly up to Longsands lane and come back down onto the Guildwheel. I did call the police and they’ve come out but didn’t find her. Ed and the neighbour found her on the Guildwheel so we, if you’re on it in the morning please keep an eye out.

Been trying to find out what farm she’s from with no joy so if you have any idea please shout!

What an incredible result in Preston. The team have worked so hard all year for this. A huge thanks to everyone involved, and to the wonderful Preston City Council staff who ran a brilliant polling day and count.

5 gains and a hold!

And thank you to everyone who voted to me ne Garrison ward. I didn’t win this year, but I will be standing again in 2026 and I’ll be working my socks off for the ward in the meantime.

This is absolutely heartbreaking and it’s happening more and more.

Today I found out that my third child won't be going to same high school as her older siblings. Nor any of our other choices. Seeing your child cry over this is heartbreaking. I have been in tears most of the day, as I feel I have let her down.

This is a direct result of Conservative-run Lancashire County Council not building a new high school in NW Preston, despite the urgent need. Preston Lib Dems have been warning of this risk since 2018.

My children and I aren't religious, so we couldn't get into oversubscribed church schools. Nevertheless I applied for one. Didn't get in.

No religion = No choice

There was no indication from LCC that siblings wouldn't get in to the community high school my other two children currently attend. Broughton High School.

There are x29 kids who would have easily got into that school last year, who didn't this year. X14 of them live inside the geographical priority area. They paid a premium for it, and still didn't get in. I couldn't afford that, and also lost out.

Single parent/low income = Priced out

Why has this happened? All because the Tories chose not to build new schools in time in a massive area of housebuilding expansion in NW Preston. The NW Preston master plan has X1 high school and X2 primary schools in it. The high school land was given to LCC for £1. Yet nothing has been built. Houses and roads, yes. Infrastructure to build a community around, no.
