HERITAGE OPEN DAYS: FREE AFTER SCHOOL HANDLING ACTIVITIES

Looking for something a bit different to do after school with the kids? Next week, on Thursday 17th September from 2pm - 5pm, we'll be offering coal mining handling activities with boxes lent to us by the National Coal Mining Museum! Come and see us in a very fitting location: The Snap Tin!

LAST CALL: BE READY FOR ANYTHING - FREE EMERGENCY PLANNING TRAINING

The session delivered by CVS Cheshire East offers residents a useful training session to help prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. You learn more about how to make a household plan and prepare a Grab bag. You’ll also hear from Poynton Town Council’s Town Clerk who will share an overview of the Town’s Emergency Resilience Plan.

The session is Tuesday 8th September, 1.30pm – 3pm at Poynton Civic Hall. It’s free but please book a place by calling 01625 872238

CCST YOUTH ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES ARE BACK AFTER SUMMER BREAK

The fantastic schedule of activities for young people, organised by our Council Community Support Team, are returning from Friday this week. They include:

Free Friday Dance for ages 8-15.
Back this Friday 4th September from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Poynton Civic Hall.

Free Multisports for ages 5-11
Back Tuesday 8th September from 4pm - 5pm at Poynton Civic Hall

Free Basketball for ages 12-16
Back Thursday 10th September from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at Poynton Leisure Centre

Free Football for ages 8-16
Continues on Wednesdays from 6pm - 7pm at Barnaby Park

UNDERSTANDING DEMENTIA

EOLP are organising an informative session on ‘Understanding Dementia’ on Wednesday 9th September, 1pm – 3pm at Poynton Civic Hall. You’ll find out what to expect when supporting someone with later-stage dementia, possible symptoms, practical advice and tips on eating, drinking and communicating.
