A £1 million funding programme has been approved to support improvements to community spaces across Wyre – helping local organisations transform facilities and deliver lasting impact for residents.
The fund will support projects at community centres, sports hubs, village halls and heritage buildings, making them more accessible, sustainable and welcoming.

🚨The culprit behind the fly tipping in the bulk bins on Bold Street, Fleetwood has been caught and issued with a £1,000 fixed penalty notice.
We are continuing to take a zero-tolerance approach to environmental crime. This area is now being closely monitored, and further enforcement action will be taken against anyone caught using these bins illegally.
Our officers work tirelessly to investigate fly tipping, clear waste and hold offenders to account. You can help by reporting incidents of fly tipping, littering, dog fouling and more via our website:

Wyre Council celebrated Volunteers’ Week 2026 by welcoming volunteers to an afternoon tea celebration, to thank them for all the work that they do on behalf of the council 🥰

Wyre Council has over 200 registered volunteers, who in the previous 12 months have volunteered 36,379 hours of their time to undertake a huge range of activities, including leading guided walks, running cycling groups, hosting arts and crafts sessions, taking part in community litter picks, operating beach clean groups across the coastline, befriending lonely and isolated people, stewarding events at the theatre, hosting bike repair workshops, working in Wyre Council’s CCTV control room and much more.

From all of us at Wyre Council, thank you for everything that you do!
