But their popularity and high demand mean lots of fakes are now available to buy. And the counterfeit versions may contain harmful levels of dangerous chemicals.

✓ Buy from trusted retailers if you can – fakes may not meet our safety standards
✓ Check for proper labelling – missing safety information is a sign it’s fake
✓ If the toy is damaged, leaking or smells unusual, stop using it
✓ Avoid buying for under 3s - they’re most at risk from dangerous toys.

Report scams - and help protect others 📵

Did you know, as of May 2026, more than 40,600 scams were taken down across 91,000 websites as a result of reporting to the 7726 service.

➡️By forwarding suspicious messages to 7726, phone providers can investigate where the texts came from and block the number if its malicious.

We've been informed that suspected rogue traders have been cold calling in and are going to be in the area over the coming days.

People residing in Glenleigh Avenue, Cosham have received cold calls about roofing works today.

Our advice is to not engage with individuals that cold call offering to undertake works and to report suspicious activity.
