Have you heard about the HIVE Portsmouth Disability Hub at Cascades Shopping Centre?

It's a welcoming space for anyone with a physical disability or sensory impairment. Come along for support, advice and information, no appointment needed.

They run expert sessions and drop-ins throughout the week, and carers are welcome too.

NHS Wessex Cancer Alliance is promoting a cancer carers survey at the moment.

Taking this survey will help them understand the experiences of people who support or care for those affected by cancer.

They will publish the report and share it with the National NHS care-givers lead.

Nationally, there is a lack of information about the experiences of the unpaid people who support or care for others who are affected by cancer. Many people do not think of themselves as a ‘carer’ and do not see themselves as needing the care and support they deserve.

📢 Big change if you need a blood test in Portsmouth

From 10 September, you can book routine blood tests online. Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is moving to an online booking system.

This applies at all 5 sites:
🏥 Queen Alexandra Hospital (QA)
🏥 St Mary's Hospital
🏥 Petersfield Community Hospital
🏥 Gosport War Memorial Hospital
🏥 Fareham Community Hospital

Can't book online? No problem. Call 023 9268 1755, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 3:00pm, and their team will help you book.

We have found that the Discharge Lounge at Queen Alexandra Hospital was managed by an experienced team and there was clear evidence of strong coordination to support patient flow and discharge arrangements.

At the same time, the visit identified a number of opportunities to improve the environment, patient information, accessibility, and the overall waiting experience.
