⏰ Thank you to those who have completed the survey. If you've not yet completed for your setting, please could you do so now.

The deadline is fast approaching - all early years providers are reminded to submit their survey by Monday 12 October 2026.

Your responses help the Portsmouth Early Years Inclusion Team build a clearer picture of SEND needs across the city, ensuring support is targeted where it's needed most. The survey also helps the team provide advice and deploy support to settings through the Outreach Officer and wider Inclusion Team.

⏰ Have you completed the Audit of Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) - Early Years Provision 2026-27 Survey?

The deadline is fast approaching - all early years providers are reminded to submit their survey by Monday 12 October 2026.

This two-part workshop supports early years practitioners and SENCOs to look beyond behaviour and consider the feelings, needs, developmental stage and communication behind children’s responses. Workshop 1 focuses on behaviour as communication, belonging, big feelings, co-regulation, PACE, fight/flight/freeze responses, the window of tolerance and practitioner self-reflection. Workshop 2 builds on this by exploring consistency, partnership working, child development, behaviour cycles, ABCC information gathering, triggers, environmental factors, teaching replacement skills and writing practical support plans.

Every year, the Portsmouth EY Inclusion Team ask you to complete the annual SEN audit by listing the children in your setting who are presenting with additional needs. This year we have simplified this process to make it easier and quicker for you to complete.

The Audit of Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) - Early Years Provision 2026-27 Survey is now open.

Please complete the survey by the deadline, in order to share information about SEND provision within your setting. This helps to build a clearer picture of needs across Portsmouth. It also enables you to request support for your setting from the EY Inclusion Team and to help us deploy our Outreach Officer (Susan Cooke) and wider team (Sue Bowler, Ella Harbut, Kate Wharton and Lucy West) to answer your SEND questions and support you in meeting the needs in your setting.

Please note: this is not for Year R children in school.
