Today marks the beginning of Infant Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 and this year’s theme is ‘Attunement’.

Attunement is how you as a parent notices, understands and responds to your baby’s feelings and needs.

Over time this helps babies to feel safe, understood and connected, and helps them learn to regulate their emotions, supporting good infant mental health.
