Weymouth Portland and Chickerell Transport Action Group

Please note that the former "Weymouth Transport Action Group" has changed it's name to encourage residents from Weymouth Portland and Chickerell to be part of this volunteer group for the region. So that issues with public transport and walking/cycle areas have a central point of contact.

But also to encourage anyone from theWeymouth Portland or Chickerell councils to also be represented or active members, to feedback to their councils and Dorset County Council.

The groups email address is: [email protected] and they are currently developing a new page - Weymouth Portland and Chickerell Transport Action Group

Under 25s invited to take part in Dorset PCC's new youth survey

Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner is calling on young people across Dorset to share their views as part of his second youth survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/97DGB8F

The survey forms a key part of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s (OPCC) youth participation strategy, ensuring that young people’s voices remain central to shaping its work and priorities.

Following last year’s survey, which highlighted several key areas of concern, the OPCC has worked closely with partners, including Dorset Police, to strengthen support for young people across the county. This has included funding a range of targeted initiatives designed to provide help at critical moments.

These initiatives include youth workers in emergency departments at University Hospitals Dorset, support services for young people at risk of carrying knives, and specialist provision for those who have experienced harm.

Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick said: “Last year’s survey gave us valuable insight into the experiences and concerns of young people in Dorset. It has directly informed the work of my Violence Reduction and Prevention Team and enabled investment in initiatives that are already making a difference.

“This year, we want to go even further. This survey is an opportunity to show that we have listened, taken action and remain committed to putting young people at the heart of our work.

“I would strongly encourage all young people under 25 in Dorset to take part. Your views matter, your voice matters, and we cannot do this without you.

“If you want to be heard, please take a few minutes to complete the survey online and help shape the future of policing and support services in Dorset.”
