AVOIDING BURNOUT IN COMMUNITY WORK
ARE YOU TIRED, STRESSED OUT AND DESPERATE FOR A BREAK?
DATE: WEDNESDAY 26TH
TIME: 12.00 - 1.00PM

Or maybe you are totally fine – as long as ‘FINE’ stands for Fearful, Insecure, Nervous and Exhausted!

The global pandemic has added to an already very challenging environment for us to set and enforce healthy boundaries. But if we are to protect ourselves and the things most important to us, we need to learn to do so all the same.

In this online workshop, Nick Laffan will provide some tips and techniques to help you work out what you value, set priorities, manage your stress levels, and respond well when your boundaries are challenged. Sign up for this vital session today!

Facilitated by Nick Laffan of Community Organisers as part of the Community Practitioners Network (CPN)

Are you tired, stressed out and desperate for a break?

The digital divide is a major issue impacting across communities – and the pandemic has highlighted the impact on those who are digitally disconnected. If communities were ‘left behind’ prior to the pandemic the new digital reality that cuts across education, welfare and health is only going to exacerbate the issue and impact those with the very least, the most.

We need to build a strong alliance that can demonstrate the public support for ’s key asks.

- Data for all through the CitizenSim concept
- Devices made available to those who do not have them, and,
- Digital literacy training to support people to be able to use the devices

On the page we are posting as frequently as we can to raise awareness and the reach of the campaign is growing. But our simple ask right now is for you to share the asks as widely as possible and encourage others to sign up and pledge their support to the alliance.

If each of you invite 5 others to join, and then they subsequently invite another 5 people to join we will be able to reach thousands of organisations and people very quickly. In this context, we are calling for an increase to the R value!

The telecommunications industry will NOT act if they cannot see the public support.

Featuring Social Action Hub The Annexe, it’s great to see Community Organisers’ Chair Sacha Bedding and the Hartlepool in this new film about how community-led approaches don’t just provide good social outcomes but are also proven to create stronger local economies.

Have large housing developments been built in your area without adequate community facilities?

A large new housing development is being built in Somerset without any community facilities. We're working with Wilstockhub in Somerset, to find out if this is a problem for other communities, too.
