On the 17th to 24th of August, Cpl. Connor Arnold went on the National Aerospace Camp 2019.

During his week he has done many activities.
He did some PTT, Gliding, Bronze Radio Operators Course, Station Visits and STEM activities for the duration of the camp.

On his first day he did STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) with the task to build a glider and he also did a bronze PTT refresher since he has already achieved both Gliding and Power Flying Wings.

On his second and third day he completed his Bronze Radio Operators course which means he can now teach and use the radio correctly which will be very usefull to the squadron.

On his fourth day he went for a visit at RAF Waddington where he learnt about the sentry aircraft and visited the air traffic control tower at the station.

On his fifth day it was more STEM where this time BAE Systems gave his team a task to build an effective UAV aircraft out of a bottle rocket. His team won on that day and got to come home with some prizes.

On his final day it was time to say goodbye to all of his newly made friends and hoped they too enjoyed the camp and can't absolutely wait until National Aerospace 2020 is to arrive!

Tonight we had a refresher in campcraft.

This involved setting up a 1, 2 & 3 man tent, and looking at the advantages/disadvantages of each tent, followed by a bit of cooking, which involved looking at the various cooking systems that are used in cadets.

How many different cooking systems can you count?

Despite an action packed weekend at the airshow, our cadets still managed to get out and practise their navigation skills this evening around Kenfig pool nature reserve.

This weekend saw our cadets take part in the Wales airshow at Swansea, and in the 3Welsh Wing parade through Swansea on the Sunday.

A big well done to all those that took part.
