Happy Mother's day!

We want to wish a happy mother's day to every mum, step-mum, granny, camp mum, squadron mum or mother figure that's involved with our Squadron, the Wing or Cadets in general.

Whether it's getting up at the crack of dawn to get cadets to events on time, or driving them long distances to attend our Squadron, or encouraging them to come on night's they aren't feeling like it we know the vital work you do!

We hope you all have a lovely day and they spoil you rotten in return today!

The weather was on our side for the annual St Patrick's Day Parade in Portadown today. It is always a very special day for the Squadron as we are the only Squadron in the entire Corps to take part in a St Patrick's Day Parade!

Each cadet on parade was presented with a sprig of shamrock before parading through the town and then back to the Portadown Royal British Legion for some food!

We hope everyone who came out to watch the parade enjoyed it and we wish everyone a happy St Patrick's Day for Tuesday!

This morning cadets from 814 were delighted to assist Kildarton Parish Church in hosting their big breakfast.

Over 400 people attend the big breakfast and cadets got stuck in helping the event.

Rumour has it that one member of staff is an expert soda bread cutter!

It certainly seems like our Cadets had a great time at squadron last night! 🎨

Initialt cadets got creative with tie-dye considering how to create different shapes and considering the impact that the fabric had on the dying process.

Then they put their debating skills to the test in a "Room 101" style activity, considering some important topics, including does Pineapple belong on a pizza.....

There was lots of energy, big laughs, and great teamwork all around!

Eight of our cadets competed in the Northern Ireland Wing Cross Country competition this morning.

It was a great competition with some very strong runners showing just how much talent there is within the Wing, and a team will now be picked to head over to Scotland for the Regional competition.

Last night saw a real variety of lessons taking place on Squadron

Our junior cadets were working hard understanding radios and getting to practice their radio communication skills, while our first class cadets took some time out to revise for and sit classification exams on Airmanship and the Principles of Flight.

While for our older cadets it was a lesson in something a bit different led by Cdt Flight Sgt Allen.... (guesses welcome in the comments!)

Yesterday cadets from our Squadron joined with over 100 cadets from across Northern Ireland Wing Royal Air Force Air Cadets for the annual ATC Sunday service, this year reflecting on 85 years of the Air Training Corps.

It was a brilliant day and inspiring to hear from and see so many cadets, adult volunteers and families in attendance.
