💙 This , we’re recognising the incredible contribution unpaid carers make every day across Wales.

Hundreds of carers have shared a clear message with us: they want to be recognised, listened to and treated as equal partners in care.

Many carers tell us they face long waits for support, struggle to access breaks from caring, and often put their own wellbeing last while caring for others.

At Llais, we believe carers’ voices must be at the heart of shaping health and social care. We remain committed to listening, supporting carers to speak up and working with partners including Carers Wales, Carers Trust Wales, Voices Adfocad and Credu Supporting Young and Adult Carers to drive the changes that matter most.

The Age Alliance Wales roadshow! 🎉
The free event will take place on Tuesday 9th June from 10.30-2pm at The Rooftop, Swansea Grand Theatre, Singleton Street, Swansea SA1 3QJ. 📍

The roadshow will feature a host of organisations working together to support well-being, independence and rights of older people across Wales. 🤝💜

Attendees can meet with representatives, ask questions and get advice face-to-face. 💬✅

Our timetable for Carers Week is officially here! With less than a week to go, check our busy timetable and plan what sessions you'd like to attend 💜

Starting off with our Carers Marketplace on Monday, a one-stop shop with information and advice for carers, from our own projects, to organisations from across Swansea. We will have refreshments for carers, and the official launch of our new website 🍓💻 We also have our regular BAME female badminton session on Monday evening 🏸

On Tuesday, we have our regular parent carer coffee morning, but will also be hosting an all day Repair Cafe, as part of Big Green Week. Bring your old clothes, household items and belongings to be fixed, rather than throwing them away! Help your pockets and the planet🌍♻️

Wednesday is jam-packed! We are hosting a Dementia Conference for professionals at Swansea Carers Centre, whilst the Helping Family Carers Team are hosting a Parent Carer Information Fayre at the Village Hotel from 9:30am-3pm. There will be talks throughout the day, stalls from local services and third sector organisations, and free lunch and parking provided. We're finishing the day with our regular Young Adult Carer evening drop in 🐛🌱

On Thursday, we have our popular Dementia Drop In session in the afternoon, which is open to dementia carers and those living with dementia, and always a highlight of our week 🧡

We're finishing the week on Friday with the launch of a new monthly bereavement support group. The session will be facilitated by Caroline from Bluespace, and will be a safe space to connect with others who are grieving a loved one🫂

Which events will you be joining? Whether you're completely new to the Carers Centre, or a long term friend, everyone is welcome 🧡💜
