🍇Did you know one of the Wirral's most famous ladies is hiding in plain sight right here in our Gallery?

Born on the Wirral, Lady Emma Hamilton became one of the most celebrated women in Europe, captivating artists, aristocrats and royalty alike.

In this striking portrait by Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, Emma is depicted as a Bacchante, a follower of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and revelry.

The painting captures the theatrical flair and charisma that made her so popular during her own lifetime.

🚧 Road Race – Sunday 7 June: Travel Update

We will be open this weekend.

The Port Sunlight 5/10km road race will be taking place on Sunday 7 June, with local road closures in place from 7.30am to 2pm.

This may affect access and parking in the area, so we encourage visitors and customers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey.

🚆 Public transport will still be running as normal and is the best way to travel where possible.

As always, it will be lovely to see all the runners and their supporters around the village.

🔵Ever wondered what shaped Lord Lever’s taste?
Well, he had a passion for Chinese porcelain, especially the beautiful blue-and-white pieces. For William Lever, they weren’t just decoration, he saw them as part of the story of British taste in the 17th–18th centuries, admired by collectors and artists like Rossetti and Whistler.
Even when fashions changed, he stayed true to what he loved, building a collection that we can still see today here in the Gallery.
