Now that we've had the first of hopefully many warm spells, remember that the water can still be very cold.

If you’re in trouble in the water, could save your life:

• Tilt your head back with ears submerged
• Relax and try to control your breathing
• Use your hands to help you stay afloat
• It’s OK if your legs sink, we all float differently

Practise floating at as supervised location, such as a swimming pool.

Remember it. Practise it. Share it.

🛟WE ARE RECRUITING!🛟

Every RNLI crew is made up of brilliant people in many different roles, from boat and shore crew to launch authorities and many, many more. It takes a whole team working together behind the scenes and on the water to make sure our lifeboat can launch and save lives at sea.

If you are passionate about Saving Lives at Sea, willing to learn new skills, and enjoy being part of a hard-working, dedicated team, we could have the ideal volunteering opportunity for you!

Being a RNLI Volunteer is one of the most exciting and fulfilling roles you can do.

We currently have these roles that we are looking to fill:

Inshore Lifeboat Crew - Port Erin

Shore Crew - Port Erin

The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Port Erin is looking for volunteers to join the existing team in the role of Shore Crew.

⭐️ Congratulations ⭐️

Congratulations to Kimmie Holland on successfully passing her Tier 2 Assessments on Tuesday 21 April, during which there was a westerly Force 5, making for challenging conditions on the day.

The Tier 2 pass-out is a comprehensive evaluation that tests every essential skill required to operate an inshore lifeboat, including helming the boat, towing, anchoring, collision avoidance regulations and basic navigation.

Over the last few months, Kimmie has dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to developing her skills.

Our volunteer crew members invest hundreds of hours each year in training to ensure our service continues to operate to the highest possible standard. This commitment enables our crews to respond to shouts quickly, safely, and effectively, helping deliver the best possible outcomes for the communities we serve.

Kimmie won’t be stopping at Tier 2, as she is going straight onto new training plans for Navigator and Plant Operator, which will enable her to launch the boat.

Well done to Kimmie on this fantastic achievement. 👏
