Where else could you learn to fly aerobatics, under instruction from current and ex RAF servicemen, visit Royal Air Force Stations, tour foreign countries, partake in sports from local to International level, learn the skills to lead expeditions, become a Target Rifle Shooter, gain your Duke of Edinburgh's Awards, assist your community, learn aviation subjects and get BTEC qualifications to prove

the knowledge, go caving, parachuting, climbing, sailing and skiing
These are just a few activities and experiences you could have as part of the ATC, along with gaining invaluable experience and personal development. There is no obligation to join the Royal Air Force but many Air cadets do go on to do so, finding their ATC training useful during their basic service training.

This evening, the cadets put their navigation and planning skills to the test as they had a go at planning a walk for the Pontypridd Circular.

Using maps, cadets worked together to plan the route, create route cards, and compile kit lists, considering everything they might need for a safe and successful day on the hills!!

Well done to everyone involved tonight!

A slightly different activity for cadets tonight as we held a tea and coffee making lesson!

Cadets learnt the basics of making a good cup of tea and coffee, including how to prepare drinks safely, work together, and of course how to get the all important, tea-to-milk ratio just right!

The evening was full of laughter, giggles and lots of chatting whilst cadets put their skills to the test. There were plenty of cups made, a few questionable brews, and lots of fun had by everyone involved!

Today our cadets took part in the Inter Squadron Athletics competition, competing in a range of track and field events against other squadrons. Throughout the day they demonstrated excellent teamwork, encouragement and determination, supporting one another and giving every event their all.

We are incredibly proud of our Junior Men team who secured 1st Place in their category, a fantastic achievement.

A huge thank you to the organisers, staff and supporters who helped make the competition possible. Well done to everyone involved — another brilliant achievement for the squadron! 👏🏆

FS Gittins - 🥇1500 metres
CPL Graziano - 🥇High jump
Junior Men - 🥇overall

Also a massive well done to CI Gower, who came second in the staff race!

Congratulations to the No1 Welsh Wing Road Marching Team that completed the WARMA RAF 2-Day march at RAF Cosford over the weekend. An extra well done to our very own FS Oloidi and Cpl Couch. Not only were medals and silver road marching badges achieved, but the team also completed the march within the time limit and have qualified for Nijmegen later on in the year. Well done all!
