This is one for my lovely little group of Litter Pickers 😀

Anyone who is wanting to volunteer to help me with litter picking our area, could you please contact Wakefield Customer Services 0345 8 506506. I have spoken with a lovely lady there this morning, who has told me that if each person could call her they can receive a free litter picking bag, which includes, a tabard, litter picker and gloves. Unfortunately I cannot do this on your behalf as they need personal details, due to auditing purposes for the equipment.

Anyway back to some good news, the damaged tree at Carr Lane Nature Reserve has been taken down, if anyone would like any free wood, please pop down and take as much as you like before we have it removed, in the next couple of days. 😍

Well a not so good morning this morning, sorry to be a grump but this is now the 2nd time in as many weeks, that a lock for the front gate has been broken or stolen.

Due to Burntwood Community Centre being private property, we have a duty of care when the premises is closed to protect our property, out buildings and also the grounds, from damage and especially dog fouling, as we now have the RMES Team which have youths playing football on the field. It is also a massive issue with regards Insurance if someone were to have a accident on our premises.

Just to let the person/s who are responsible know, the whole grounds are covered by cctv including the front gate. If this were to happen again, we will have no choice but to forward the footage to the police.

A couple of updates for you.

First and most importantly, due to the amount of requests received, I have today been contacted by Wakefield Council to say that the Park area on Grove Mount is already being looked at for an upgrade. This is great news.😍

The ginnel between Grove Drive and Green Lane has been cleared thanks to Vico Housing.👏

Info for Litter Pickers. I am in the process of sourcing tabards, gloves, litter pickers and bags. Once received we will have a get together at your convenience, at either Burntwood Community Centre or Grove Hall and chat about the logistics over a cuppa and biscuits. The more the merrier.

And to the person who keeps stealing our padlock from the front gate at Burntwood Community Centre, could we have it back please as they are quite expensive to replace. 👍
