I tell you what, this Thursday is going to be a chuffin shambles.

I have just spent the last TWO HOURS trying to find out online who is running for Pontefract North and South and potentially a few things about their plans and policies......𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚!

Genuinely, don't know who to vote for 🤷‍♂️ but I don't want to be in the 'well if you didn't vote you've no right to an opinion' camp. I feel so stuck 😞

Some councillors/candidates haven't posted on their socials for months, some haven't even got a social media account......in 2026! Literally all I've seen is a photo of Brian Mayhew on his bike 🤣

Where are you Labour? Tories? Reform? Greens? Libs Dems? I don't know who any of you ARE let alone know enough about you to vote for you.

Genuinely feel so upset that I didn't commit to running because no matter what happens, it looks like there is going to be another incoming joke of a council. I just hope that whoever get in are ready for my social media stories 😜

Strap in everyone. This is going to be a bumpy ride.

Afternoon all,

Not the video you’ll be expecting, but after some soul searching during our first week, it’s clear this it isn’t the right time for me to be leaping into local politics.

For those who know my background and personal circumstances, I’m sure you’ve already thought ‘how has he got time to do this aswel’. Truth is - I haven’t.

Having another plate to spin would mean I had to take my eye off the others and I’m not prepared to do that. Everything I do receives maximum effort and I fear I would be spreading myself too thin and that wouldn’t be good for anyone.

Thank you for the support. It’s clear that our town wants change and I hope whoever gets in makes it happen. If not - you’ll have me and my ridiculous social media straight back on your ass!

This won’t be the last you’ll hear from me but I need to do what’s right for me and my family.

Last one for this evening.....

Here is what’s been happening in Wakefield recently.....

The number of children needing SEND support is rising every year but provision isn’t keeping up. It's been in the Council's budget every year, but like a lot of things - we're not seeing anything actually materialise.

This is why SEND schools are overflowing, mainstream schools are stretched with our teachers and parents in a daily struggle. Tackling this issue head on would be a win for everyone!

This needs properly addressing and is in my top four urgent priorities for Pontefract and the entire district‼️

Due to the conflicts in Iran and the Middle East, fuel prices have started to soar. Quickly. This puts our families in awful predicament - to go or not to go, something that they shouldn’t have to think about in the school holidays.

Great news if you live in the likes of Norway, Australia, India, Italy, Brazil, Ireland, Croatia, Latvia, Portugal, Hungary Austria or Laos - their governments have stepped up and cut fuel duty/excise for between two and five months.

The unfortunate truth here in the UK - we don’t even expect anything because this government NEVER do anything to help us.

Yeah. Remember us, ‘the working people’ you wanted to protect so badly.

This government needs to change and the council is pretty much going the same way. Spineless and no morals.

It’s time for some change!
