Mayor of Polegate to Celebrate Local Volunteers with Special Sunday Roast
The Mayor of Polegate is delighted to announce a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by local volunteers in the Polegate community.
Three local volunteers will be chosen at random from all eligible nominations to attend a complimentary Sunday Roast Lunch at the Mayor's Civic Reception, which will take place on Sunday 22 November 2026 at The Cumberland Hotel.
The initiative aims to thank volunteers who give their time, energy and commitment to supporting residents, community groups, organisations and activities within Polegate.
Who can be nominated?
Residents are invited to nominate a volunteer who:
▪️ Is a resident of Polegate; and
▪️ Has carried out voluntary work within Polegate.
Nominations are open to anyone who would like to recognise a local volunteer who they believe deserves a special thank you for their contribution to the community.
All eligible nominations will be entered into a draw, which will take place at the Full Council Meeting on Monday 26 October 2026. Three volunteers chosen in the draw will then be invited to attend the Mayor’s special Sunday Roast Lunch at The Cumberland Hotel on 22 November.
Nominations close on Friday 23 October 2026.
The Mayor Cllr Stephen Shing said: “Our volunteers give so much of their time to support others and make a real difference to life in Polegate. This is a small way of saying thank you and recognising the important contribution they make to our community.”
Polegate Town Council encourages residents to take this opportunity to nominate someone who gives their time to help others and make Polegate a better place.
