Burnby Hall Gardens

Burnby Hall Gardens Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum are situated in Pocklington on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds.

Originally the estate of adventurer and philanthropist Major Percy Stewart and his wife Katharine, the 9 acres of land, comprising 2 lakes and a National Collection of over 100 varieties of Hardy Water Lily, were left in trust on his death in 1962. The Gardens are a haven of tranquillity, and the Stewart Museum houses several exhibits of UNESCO standard. Children's events, outside theatre and band

concerts are held during the spring and summer months. See www.burnbyhallgardens.com for full details.

Hello everyone. If you're visiting the Gardens this coming Wednesday, don't forget we've got a Rusticus adventure for the children, the Great Flying Caper!

Audiences will take to the skies on a whirlwind journey into the daring world of flight! From the legendary Icarus with his waxen wings to the bold pioneers of the first hot air balloons, they’ll meet dreamers and risk-takers who longed to conquer the air. With interactive challenges and a great dollop of silliness, audiences will join forces to test their own flying skills, discover the triumphs (and mishaps!) of early aviation, and see if together they can finally crack the secret of soaring above the clouds!
Lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Band Concert - Sunday 24th May...
Hello everyone. On Sunday, in a change to our published concert programme, we welcome the Buckrose Concert Band, who are performing in the bandstand between 2pm and 4pm.
We anticipate that our carpark will get busy from around 11 am, and we hope that the following alternative parking information will be useful:
If our own car park is full, alternative event parking is available at Pocklington Football Club, situated on The Balk next to the Gardens, or in the council car park on Robertson Close, across The Balk from the Gardens, behind the old railway station.
We ask our visitors to please be considerate of residents. Please avoid parking on Broadmanor, where poor and inconsiderate parking has resulted in the authorities being made aware and checks being made. Thank you.

Moorhen chick update...
We're really pleased to say that there have been no further losses to our current brood of moorhen chicks on the Lower Lake, and the four little ones are continuing to grow up very fast.
