Flood Mitigation Update – Denham Close, Honicknowle
Following flooding during the severe weather in August 2025, investigations identified key areas where water was entering Denham Close. Improvement works have now been completed at three locations:
• Rear of 131 Shakespeare Road – Upgraded drainage with larger and additional gullies, now redirected to the Ham Brook instead of the overloaded combined sewer.
• Footpath outside 12 Denham Close – New drainage installed to capture water flowing down the path before it reaches properties.
• Denham Close parking area – Improved access for maintenance, plus added overflow and extra drainage to reduce flood risk.
These works will help better manage surface water and reduce the risk of future flooding. Thank you to residents for your input and support.
