With the summer holidays well and truly underway, Sutton Harbour is a great place to spend a family day out.

It’s home to the largest aquarium in the UK and has a great choice of places to eat.

Plus, whether you like to be in the water or on it, minutes away you will find the Tinside Lido for a cooling dip and the Barbican Landing Stage to board a Plymouth Boat Trips cruise across the Sound.

Please note the National Marine Aquarium will be closed to the public all day on 9th September for a staff training day.

The National Marine Aquarium will be closed to the public all day on 9th September, this is to allow all staff to gather for a full staff training day. We will be open to the public on 10th September.

The British Firework Championships return to Plymouth tonight for two spectacular evenings of displays...but not before a solar eclipse! 🎇

There is plenty of time to enjoy dinner along Sutton Harbour and the Barbican before the eclipse reaches maximum peak at 7:15 PM with the fireworks starting at 9:30pm.

The Sutton Harbour pedestrian footbridge is currently out of use due to a fault. Environment Agency contractors are investigating the cause and potential solutions but advise the footbridge is likely to remain out of use for the weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience.
