That sensational victory allowed her to continue changing Britain for the better.

This is great news. This important land should be for the community.

It’s brilliant news that Wiltshire Council has refused the One Tree Hill solar planning application. The refusal notice is extremely comprehensive in the reasons for refusal including:
Harm to the landscape
Loss of “best and most versatile” agricultural land
Impact on biodiversity
Unacceptable highways impacts

Thank you to everyone involved with Potterne Parish Council and Potterne Solar Action Group for all their work over many months to review planning documents and make many detailed submissions to the planning process about why One Tree Hill is the wrong place for a solar installation.

What happens next? It is possible that the Applicant will consider appealing against the decision to the Planning Inspectorate. Given the comprehensive reasons for refusal - I really hope that the applicant decides that it is simply not worth it. I will keep residents updated.

Meanwhile, the fight against the Potterne Park Farm application continues - this one is still being considered by Planning Officers and Potterne Solar Action Group is about to submit a further response to the FIFTH consultation.

Cllr Pru Maskell for Braunton Rural will be sharing her ideas about 'inspiring inclusion', which is the global theme for 2024.
Pru is a County and District Councillor, the current Chair of CWO Devon, she sits on the management committee of North Devon Conservative Association and is on the Parliamentary Candidates list.
As a mum of four and a former nurse, Pru loved enabling people to find solutions to problems.
