This morning friends and colleagues joined us for a street surgery, not all of who made the photo. We had lots of conversations with local residents - it was good to hear from them about what is going well in Plymouth and to listen to their concerns. All the casework we picked up will be dealt with and the conversations people asked us to have with agencies outside Plymouth City Council will happen as well. We know that the privilege of being a Councillor is not just about the few weeks before an election, it’s about being there and listening all year round. Our thanks to Plymouth Labour members for helping us out this morning and meaning we could talk to far more local residents.

📅 A six week consultation on the zoning for Plymouth’s proposed new heat networks in now underway.

Heat networks, sometimes known as district heating, distribute heat from centralised sources through a network of underground pipes, providing buildings with heating, hot water and, in some cases, cooling.

The consultation will focus on two heat network zone boundaries, one that covers some of the southern and western parts of the city, and another in the north around Derriford.

The consultation will primarily engage businesses, industry and large building owners, although residents and people who work in the zones are also invited to share their views.
