So, it would appear that 80 years after our recent - and many still living - ancestors fought and died in their 100s of 1000s to free us from the threat of fascism has resulted in our current crop of political leaders mimicking the behaviour of our supposed evil N**i common enemy.

Regarding many MPs demanding the government step in to meet with legal representatives of the Hunger Strikers held in custody on long term remand for their actions to protest and resist the genocide in Gaza by Israel, this is how our government responded to that demand:

Sir Keir Starmer's response to the Justice Minister stating that "robust and proper guidance and procedures" are already in place and being followed by the Prison Service was:
"The Government is simply following these rules and procedures" is the newest version of the Hitlerian tribes:"I was only following orders."

Imagine your son or daughter lost their lives in a conflict in military service to the UK?

Imagine they survived it but went on to die in voluntary employment of an official aid organisation in a foreign combat zone at the hands of a foreign military?

Then imagine your own country was not only aware and complicit in that death, but was withholding footage and data of it to block any kind of investigation, justice, culpability, closure and, if relevant, compensation to the surviving family?

You'd say that wasn't British values or how we treat our service men and women or veterans, wouldn't you? You might even claim it was a lie.

So, imagine that it's the truth.

Under what circumstances would you then believe anything else your government or Minister of Defence told you?

While I was serving with the Royal Navy in the Falklands War in 1982, the well known military mantra was " ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do and die"

What makes you think the same thing doesn't apply to the Hunger Strikers protesting the genocide in Israel....or to you?

Assembly in Falmouth yesterday.

Jeremy Corbyn turned up earlier than expected and sat down and engaged with the break out group I was facilitating!

This Assembly was about far more than just the clinical task of pouring over and amending the founding documents of the creation of a new political party based on a grassroots, bottom-up model that's never been attempted in British Political history before.

It was definitely to do with building hope, inspiration and relationships with our new a and old friends and giving us the confidence and empowerment to bring that to our wider communities and society.

It's Plymouth's turn next week, Saturday 8th November, 1-4pm at Tothill Community Centre
