This Saturday is our open day! We have some limited availability for SEN families to be given a tour of our station and appliance before the main open day starts, for those families who need a quieter time. This will be between 1000-1130. To book please message us directly.

Not wanting to be outdone by our friends at Greenbank Fire Station, who looked to have the best time on Sunday, we will be hosting our own open day here at Plymstock Fire Station on September 12th.

Please join us in congratulating FF Mike Viggers on passing his final development assessment yesterday and progressing into his new role as a fully competent member of the crew here at Plymstock.

Mike has worked tirelessly over the past 2 years to pass various assessments to get to this point. As part of his development programme he has had to pass:

- Stage 1 review with Watch Manager
- Modular reviews on various practical topics
- Development review Breathing Apparatus and Firefighting assessment
- Online development portfolio covering theoretical knowledge in a huge range of topics and areas
- Stage 2 review with Station Manager
- Stage 3 review with Academy instructors on both theory and practical elements

Mike is pictured removing his development stickers from his helmet, which help Incident Commanders on the incident ground to quickly identify individuals skill levels and competencies.

A drought has been declared across Devon and Somerset, and surrounding areas 🚨

Hot, dry conditions mean a higher risk of wildfires and increased pressure on water supplies.

We’re reducing non-essential water use, reviewing firefighting water supplies, and ensuring our wildfire resources – including water bowsers, 4x4s, ATVs and drones – are ready to respond.

Help to protect each other, and our countryside and water supplies, by:
