Two new swimming pontoons have been installed in the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park for those swimming in the ocean this summer.

These additions have come after a trial last summer, they also make swimming at sea much more safe.

Day 1 ✅

What a fantastic first day of SailGP here in Britain’s Ocean City 🌊⛵️with crowds flocking to Plymouth’s waterfront to watch the action and cheer on Great Britain SailGP Team as they race on home waters.

We got to see the boats get craned into the water and the team get ready here in Millbay before heading out for the race 🏁 with refreshments from The Coffee Stop.

Don’t miss out on more action tomorrow for the second and final day! The English Cities Fund is proud to be an official supplier of the Plymouth SailGP event.

This weekend nine competing nations will battle it out in identical fast foiling F50 catamarans reaching speeds exceeding 60mph.

This is the third event in the global championships calendar, following events in Bermuda and Chicago.

On both 30 and 31 July the race village is open 12:00-18:00 and the race starts 14:00-15:30.
