Many thanks to four of our Litter Pickers for their hard work on Friday morning at the group pick. In total they picked 8 bags. Find of the day must be the framed oil painting of NYC found at the roadside!
We also found fly-tipping in the Car Park at Redhouse Common and reported it to LDC. 😡

Many thanks to the 9 volunteers who joined the pick last week. Despite a sharp wind, they managed to dodge the rain. In total, they collected 10 bags plus a number of hub caps and cones etc. They were working in South Chailey.

The next pick will be on 25 April when we will be supporting the Bonfire Society at the St George's Fete from 12-4pm.

12 litter pickers were out and about this week and in total 17 bags were collected. Several hubcaps were also picked up - victims of the potholes we think.
We’ve also re-reported the fly tipping in South Chailey and hope it’s removed soon, and the abandoned highways signs in North Chailey.

A big thankyou to 6 of our group who picked a huge amount of litter yesterday morning. In addition, 5 others have been picking the areas near to their homes. Yesterday morning's group pick collected 14 bags of litter and lots of extra bits and pieces such as signs and car parts. (Oh and a pair of pants ?!!) in the Sports Ground car park. There seems to be more litter than ever these days with the worst black spots in Mill Lane and Beggars Wood Road. The phantom vodka drinker is still regularly dropping bottles in Banks Road, and similarly someone is discarding huge numbers of wine bottles in Mill Lane. Nevertheless, we feel our efforts are definitely making a difference, and lots of people continue to thank us for our hard work.

5 of our members went litter picking this week and In total collected 6 bags and a number of abandoned notices and other paraphernalia. Several of the team noticed that there had been some fly tipping in the layby in Honeypot Lane - a large red case and some household items. We have already reported it on the "LoveCleanStreets" app, so hopefully it will be cleared away fairly soon. We recommend using this app to report any fly tipping as it is very quick and simple to use.
We also noticed a lot of abandoned plastic fencing on the A275 which has been reported to ESCC Highways dept to investigate.

After the pick, we all went along to the Free Church for refreshments where we were made to feel most welcome. Thank you and Happy Christmas to everyone.

Many thanks to 9 litter pickers, for a busy morning's pick last Friday. Hopefully the green was lovely and tidy in readiness for the Remembrance Day Service on Sunday. The next pick will be on 7th November starting from the green in South Chailey with the aim of making the area clean and tidy in readiness for the Remembrance Sunday service.
