Happy with your current extinguishant panel setup?

For a lot of people in the UK, the honest answer is no. The current options haven't been hitting the mark, and customers have been vocal about wanting something better.

Global Fire Equipment has been producing extinguishant panels for a while, with new panels on the way, built to support customers who've been asking for a better alternative.

Watch Terry and Matt talk through what's coming and why it's been a long time coming for the UK market.

What could change if you had a genuine national support network behind you?

For Terry, meeting more of the Global family at FSE felt like stepping back into the good old days of fire safety, when there was always someone there to help, no matter the size of the job.

That network now means Argos can potentially take on national contracts, not just work across the South West. Bigger reach, same relationships, same level of support.

Watch Terry talk about FSE, the Global family, and what it opens up for Argos and its customers.

What's it like being treated as more than just a number on a spreadsheet?

That's what's stood out to Terry since becoming part of the Global family. It feels like years gone by, when relationships in this industry meant something, and people genuinely looked out for each other rather than just chasing figures.

It's a small thing to notice, but it makes a real difference to how a partnership actually works day to day.

Watch Terry talk to Matt about what being part of the Global family means to him, and why it matters.

Would you rather have one option for support, or several?

That's what open vs closed protocol comes down to for customers. With open protocol, you're not fixed to one company or one set of fees each year, you've got the choice to go to multiple people for support and servicing.

Matt's clear that closed protocol isn't a bad thing, it has its place and works well in certain situations. But it does mean you're fixed with specific people you can use, whether that suits you long term or not.

It's why Global Fire Equipment uses open protocol systems, giving customers choice rather than a fixed relationship with fewer suppliers.

Watch Terry and Matt talk through where each approach works best, and why open protocol suits most customers.

How many engineers could actually service your fire system if needed?

With open protocol, you’re not restricted to one manufacturer's approved circle, so thousands of engineers across the industry can work on these systems provided they've had the training.

Global Fire Equipment made their training free, along with the software, and make sure customers are trained before they touch a system.

That combination means real choice for the end user. You're never stuck waiting on one specialist because nobody else has the know-how, or the access, to help.

Watch Terry and Matt talk through why free training changes the picture for customers.

Do you know if your fire system locks you into one supplier?

It's a bigger question than it sounds. With closed protocol systems, you're tied to one manufacturer and their specialists, which means if you ever want to move to another supplier, you can't, at least not without ripping out and replacing the whole system.

Terry and Matt sit down to talk through the difference between open and closed protocol systems, and why it matters more than most people realise when choosing a fire system.

It's part of why Argos deals in open protocol systems, giving you the freedom to choose who looks after your system, now and in the future.

Watch Terry and Matt break down open vs closed protocol, and what it means for you.

From panels to suppression, Argos and Global Fire Equipment have brought together a range built around what the industry's actually asked for.

If you're unsure, let's take a look.

If your fire panel gets discontinued, does that mean starting from scratch?

Not necessarily. Thanks to backwards compatibility built into Global Fire Equipment's range, replacing an older discontinued panel can sometimes be as simple as swapping it out, without rewiring or reworking the whole system.

Matt talks through some of the panels in the range and where this applies, which is good news for businesses worried an upgrade means major disruption.

At Argos Fire, we like solutions that make life easier for the people we work with, not harder.

Watch Terry and Matt go through the detail on backwards compatibility and which panels it applies to.

Could you still get parts for your fire panel if something went wrong tomorrow?

Every product has a lifespan, and fire panels are no different. Older models eventually get discontinued, which means parts and support become harder to come by over time.

If your panel is getting on, that's worth knowing sooner rather than later, ideally before something breaks and you're left waiting.

At Argos Fire, we'd rather help you plan an upgrade on your terms than scramble for parts that no longer exist.

Watch Terry and Matt talk about why panel age matters more than people think, and what to do about it.
