The Town Council has awarded grant funding of £1,000 to Beck Isle Museum, Pickering to support improvements to its outside courtyard area. Angela, our Town Clerk, visited the museum this afternoon to see how the funding will help make the courtyard more practical for events, and to have a look at recent improvements made across the museum.

Following her visit, Angela said that she was impressed with the wide range of fascinating objects on display, many of which have a connection to Pickering, as well as the bright and welcoming display spaces.

With admission priced at just £8 per adult or £20 for a family of four, the museum offers excellent value for money. The Council is looking forward to seeing the completed courtyard area and the benefits it will bring to the museum and to everyone who attends their events.

Our contractor was out yesterday cutting back the vegetation on Potter Hill now that the daffodils have died back. The Town Council looks after Potter Hill, although we don't own the land. We also look after two of the trees, but the limes near the road are the responsibility of North Yorkshire Council. Some of these old historic arrangements are very confusing but just get in touch if you want to report a problem and we will do our best to help.

We have just taken delivery of some litter pickers for our amazing Pickering Town Community Interest Company volunteers. The Town Council works with the CIC to organise volunteer town tidy events, not only helping to keep our town tidy but bringing people together and forming friendships in a very positive way.
