Today our older pupils were excited to share their Scratch skills with our younger pupils. Earlier in the week they took part in the SSEN Transmission Event where they developed their skills in using Scratch to code a game. Today they shared their learning by patiently teaching the younger pupils how to build their own game. Lots of fun was had by both teachers and learners.

Due to the generosity of our Burnhaven Family we were able to invite Alison from Aberdeenshire North Foodbank into school today to present her with our collection of food. We had lots of questions about the role of the Foodbank and the positive impact it has on our local community. A big thank you to all who contributed to this worthy cause.

This morning our P6 and P7 pupils took part in an online activity led by SSEN Transmission. We all completed the Virtual Challenger Experience, testing out our coding skills on Scratch. We followed the online event and then used our skills to create our own games on Scratch. We can't wait to share our learning with our younger pupils.

Summer is here - and weโ€™ll be sharing simple weekly tips that are easy to follow and can make a big difference by the end of the break.

Summer Slide Tip 1๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ÿ’š
Create a summer reading routine: Just 10โ€“15 minutes a day can make a big difference over time.

To help support this, weโ€™ve created Camp Nessy, a FREE Summer Resource Pack, which gives structure and consistency throughout the holidays: https://www.nessy.com/en-gb/homeschooling/summer-fun-with-nessy

This week as part of our Healthy bodies, Healthy minds week, we have been completing a special mission. We all thought about the people who are important to us and choose one family member to write a gratitude letter to. We even made the adults emotional with our caring words.

Yesterday afternoon we had lots of fun developing our football skills. Our talented football player Hayley volunteered to lead some drills for us all. She was very confident as our coach leading the learning. We even had time for some short 3v3 games.
