A new pedestrian crossing has been installed outside a Peterborough primary school in time for the new school year.

Work was recently completed on the crossing outside Newark Hill Academy in Eastfield Road in time for the start of term on Monday.
The new crossing has been installed following calls for safety measures in the area and work by councillors in Dogsthorpe and East ward, along with the council's highways team:

Great social work starts with relationships. Taking the time to listen, build trust and understand each person’s individual circumstances is at the heart of the way our social workers work with children, young people and families. Hear from our team about why building strong, meaningful relationships matters and the difference it can make.

Are you the parent or carer of a school age child (reception to year 11) that has previously been in care who has an Adoption Order, Special Guardianship Order or a Child Arrangement Order?

If so, your child's school is able to claim for the Pupil Premium Plus funding grant (PP+), to support your child's education! From September, this will be Β£2,690 per child.

For your child's school to claim the funding, you just need to make them aware that your child is previously looked after and provide a copy of their order.

Happy International Literacy Day! πŸ“š

Literacy opens doors β€” helping us learn, communicate, make informed choices and connect with the world around us.

Today is a chance to celebrate the importance of reading and writing at every age, and to recognise the people and organisations helping everyone develop the skills they need to thrive.

Whether it’s discovering a new favourite book, helping a child learn to read or building confidence with everyday reading and writing, every word makes a difference.
