The Met Office has issued an Amber Extreme Heat Weather Warning, which will be in effect for most of this school week.

Please ensure that your child brings a refillable water bottle to school each day so that they can remain well hydrated. Staff will actively encourage children to drink water regularly throughout the day.

We kindly ask that sunscreen is applied to your child before they come to school. We will supply sensitive skin suncream for each class which can be applied throughout the day. If you do not wish your child to have sunscreen applied, please provide your own sunscreen. If children are bringing their own sunscreen, please ensure the bottle is labelled so they reapply it independently before going outdoors.

Our school uniform policy allows for dresses, skirts, shorts and polo tops. Please ensure that children are dressed appropriately for the expected hot weather. Children may wear PE kit or equivalent for the rest of this week. Tops should cover shoulders. Shorts should be knee length. Please do not wear sandals, flip flops or sliders.

Your child should also bring a sun hat to protect their face and head when outdoors.

To support children during this period of hot weather, we will be limiting time spent outdoors to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion or heatstroke. This may mean that children spend more time indoors during break and lunchtime. Outdoor PE sessions may be shortened, rescheduled, or moved indoors where appropriate.

In addition, classrooms will be ventilated early in the morning by opening windows and doors. Before midday, windows, doors and blinds will be closed with lights turned off, where appropriate, to help keep indoor environments as cool as possible.

We will continue to monitor temperatures across the school and within classrooms. Should further measures be required, these will be implemented as necessary throughout the week.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us to keep all children safe and comfortable during this period of extreme heat.

Dear Parents/Carers

ParentPay will close on Friday. Please pay any outstanding balances as soon as possible. Any unpaid debt will move over to Arbor.

If you have credit on your ParentPay account, this will also transfer to Arbor automatically; you do not need to do anything.

School dinner accounts will also need to be topped up through Arbor. Children should still tell their teacher each morning whether they are having a school dinner or a packed lunch.

You can now book after-school club sessions on Arbor for the week beginning 8th June through to the end of the school year.

**Bookings close 48 hours before each session starts. This gives families more flexibility, but we will not be able to accept late bookings after the deadline.**
