Who are we looking for?

We are ideally seeking a qualified Early Years Practitioner. However, we would also consider applicants who have worked within the Early Years sector within the last two years and are willing to undertake a recognised Early Years qualification.

We're looking for someone who is caring, committed, reliable, and passionate about helping young children thrive.

Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Monday to Friday - 8.45am to 3pm (half hour unpaid lunch break)

Stretton Pre-School is looking to appoint a highly motivated and competent person to work within our busy Pre-School office.
Are you:
Positive, enthusiastic, hardworking, highly confidential in all matters, able to work with a professional attitude in a busy (sometimes pressured) environment, well organised, highly flexible and an excellent communicator?
You must have experience of working within a busy office environment for at least 2 years, be highly motivated and consistently complete work to a high standard. The ability to prioritise workloads effectively and meet tight deadlines and have first class customer service skills. Be competent in using Microsoft 365.
Duties:
· Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of Pre-School life, receiving and passing on information, between parents, professional bookings and staff, including phoning parents to gather information of relevance.
· Assisting with all admissions related tasks, including taking calls and recording details of enquiries from prospective new families.
· Maintaining and updating school information, records, and databases.
· Receive, sort and distribute all packages, deliveries and mail.
· Assisting with various administrative tasks and duties, utilising word, excel, Xero and outlook email and the use of local Management Information Systems (Where training will be given)
· To work in a confidential environment in protecting data under the GDPR regulations
· To keep the Pre-School Facebook update to date and add weekly information onto it.
· Archive paperwork when instructed.
· To be able to write letters and proofread them.
· To be able to take minutes.
· Complete budget reports.
· Printing of Pre-School new starter packs.
· To be able to make checklists and bind them.
· To do administration duties as deemed appropriate by the manager and management team.
· To attend staff meetings, training days and Pre-School events yearly.
· Bookkeeping preferable.
Stretton Pre-School are committed in safeguarding children, DBS will be sought and References before you are able to start at the Pre-School.

We are currently advertising a vacancy at our Pre-School. The role is for a Full Time Early Years Practitioner (Level 2/3).
30 hours per week, term time only. (Monday - Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm half hour unpaid lunch(hours can be discussed). Minimum Level 3/2 qualification in childcare, and at least 1 years on job experience is essential.
£12.70 per hour.

Stretton Pre-School will be holding a Summer Fun Day in June!
We are looking for vendors and activity hosts to be part of an amazing community day. Whether you sell handmade goods, offer children's activities, or run a local business, we'd love to have you join us.
We're also putting the feelers out for our Pre-Loved Stalls, last year we had a couple of families who joined us and had a Pre-Loved Stall, if this is something you would be interested in please can you email us to let us know so we can decide whether there is a need/want for this at the event.

Stretton Pre-School:

We are now working on sessions for September 2025 onwards. If you would like your child to join us at Stretton Pre-School please get in contact as spaces are filling up quickly!
We accept all Funding and Tax-Free Childcare 30 hours term time only with no hidden Extras. If your a working parent and your child is two years upwards, you may be eligible for 30 hours free childcare
All you have to do is get in touch and let us know what site and sessions you would like for your child.

We have two locations: Our Main Street (open 8.30am to 3pm) pre-school is next door to Yaxley Infant School and Fourfields site (9am to 3pm) is next to the Fourfields Primary School.

From the department of education:

We want to make sure that parents don’t need to choose between having a career and having a family.

That’s why today, we’re confirming that from January, more parents will be able to apply to claim their government-funded childcare provision.
As part of the biggest childcare expansion in history, this will give eligible working parents access to 15 hours of childcare per week from April.

New childminders can also receive a financial boost of up to £1,200 with the launch of the Childminder Start-up Grant Scheme starting tomorrow.

We recommend applying for childcare support between mid-January and the end of February to get your code in good time, and avoid having to renew registration ahead of the start of the offer in April.
