‼️ BREAKING - ALL CANCELLED LOCAL ELECTIONS TO GO AHEAD ‼️

The Government have decided to withdraw their decision to cancel elections in 2026 🗳️

In our region Cambridge, South Cambs and Huntingdonshire decided to go ahead already. The Labour Council in decided cancel in 2026 - but will now be made to go ahead 👍

Great news but yet another Government U turn!

‼️ LABOUR CANCEL 2026 ELECTIONS IN PETERBOROUGH‼️

Backed by Lib Dems and Peterborough First - Labour at PCC has voted to write to Government requesting the cancellation of the 2026 local elections. 😢 🥀

This means there could never again be elections for City Council - as Labour are reorganising local Government. 😮

Conservative and Independent councillors (along with local residents) fought this decision. 🙏

With Labour tanking nationally and locally in the polls - there are no other words than cowardly and appalling 😔

In Dogsthorpe and Welland listening to residents and hearing how badly the Reeves Budget has gone down 😔

In all seriousness - we need to overcome the sense of gloom people have about the Government and the economy. There is still plenty to be hopeful for.

and can still have a bright future 💙
