Have your say by Monday 8 June and you could win one of four £50 shopping vouchers 🤩

We want to hear from Perth and Kinross Council tenants about how you would like to see your rent money invested in homes and housing services.

It is important that we understand what matters most to you, whether that is housing services, new homes, repairs, your neighbourhood, or improvements to existing homes.

A consultation is now open and you can take part on the Council’s Consultation Hub: https://consult.pkc.gov.uk/communities/spending-to-improve-housing-services/

If you receive On The House magazine, a paper copy of the consultation form is included. You can complete and return it using the envelope provided.

Your feedback will help shape rent level options for next year, and tenants will have the opportunity to vote on these later in the year.

Feedback will also be shared at the Summer Tenant Conference on Thursday 25 June, where tenants can ask Housing Managers questions on spending priorities.

Your comments, suggestions and ideas will allow us to develop some rent level options for next year to deliver on your priorities, and tenants will vote on these options later this year.

The Spring 2026 edition of On The House, the magazine for Perth and Kinross Council tenants, is now available to read online at www.pkc.gov.uk/onthehouse.

The magazine is packed full of the latest news about your housing services and neighbourhood, and we hope you enjoy it.

It also contains information about a survey that has been launched to ask tenants how you think we should be spending your rent money on housing services.

Estate-Based Initiatives (EBI) scheme - Stanley

Tenants in Stanley met on Friday 22 May to discuss potential improvements to their local area as part of our EBI scheme.

These walkabouts give residents the opportunity to share ideas and help shape improvements in their neighbourhood.

Perth and Kinross Council is carrying out some work to find out how energy efficient our homes are. This will allow us to plan for any work required to improve the efficiency of your home, helping to keep your energy bills as low as possible and reducing our carbon footprint.

If your home has been identified as one where an energy efficiency assessment will be carried out, you will soon receive a letter from us.

The process of gathering the information will take no longer than an hour. The work will be undertaken by a fully qualified contractor, and they will require access to all rooms within your home to gather the required information about the windows and heating etc.

Appointment will be made at a time that suits tenants. If you are chosen please ensure that access is provided to your home at the agreed appointment time.

You can now apply for tenancy permissions online through our MyPKC portal.

This new process is designed for your convenience, allowing you to submit applications from the comfort of your home, eliminating the need for paper forms.

Permissions you can apply for include:

-Keeping a pet
-Constructing a path or driveway
-Erecting a fence
-Put up a structure, such as a garage, shed or greenhouse
-Running a business from home
-Installing a CCTV camera (including video doorbells)
-Installing laminate flooring
-Aerial or satellite dish
-Making other alterations or improvements
-Adding an electric vehicle charge point
-Any other change/improvement

You can check what equipment your home is fitted with and then download the operating manual.

If you have an issue with condensation dampness or mould in your home you can ask for a free sensor that can help tackle the problem.

The small sensors are connected to an external wi-fi service and can help identify:

• When mould and damp might start to be a problem in your home
• When ventilation in your home can be improved
• When air quality could be improved
• If you are using your heating efficiently.

You can use a free smartphone app to monitor your home. Issues will be flagged up by the system and the Council will be on hand to help solve any problems.

Many household mould issues are caused by a build-up of condensation, poor ventilation and heating, and we can look at ways these can be improved for you.

The sensors only take minutes to install and can help to improve the health of you and your family.
