PKC Waste Services Team

PKC Waste Services Team Providing up to date information on domestic and commercial waste services and campaigns across Perth and Kinross.

This account is monitored during our opening hours 8.45am-5.00pm Monday to Friday. We're here to provide information and help householders and businesses with their waste and recycling. We aim to be respectful in our posts and any comments we respond to. We expect the same of all those contributing to our page. We want our page to be safe, friendly and an open place for discussion on all things wa

ste and recycling related. We therefore have the following house rules to help support that:
- All users must comply with the social media platform's terms of use as well as our own terms of use
- We answer enquiries/messages as soon as possible within working hours: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
- We will remove, in whole or in part, posts that we feel are inappropriate – for example bullying or harassment - or discriminatory against any individual or group
- You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content you choose to share
- We will remove messages (where function allows) and report and/or block users on our social media channels who post messages at us which we believe are:
- abusive or obscene
- deceptive or misleading
- in violation of any intellectual property rights, including copyright
- in violation of any law or regulation
- spam and off-topic content
- promotional material

Anyone repeatedly engaging with us using content or language which falls into the above categories will be blocked and/or reported to the associated social media platform. We will not tolerate or respond to abusive messages. We must always remain politically neutral on social media which is why council officers are unable to reply to, endorse or engage with, any content that is of a party political nature. Political issues can be discussed with local councillors.

Unplug your v**e when it’s fully charged to reduce the risk of fire.

Rechargeable v**es contain batteries which can overheat when left charging for too long - and that means fire risk. Tonight. In your bedroom, your kitchen, or any room in your home.

Service Disruption - Bin Collections

Due to 2 weeks of scheduled road closures on the B898 (Dalguise Road), starting from Monday 25th May our refuse collection vehicle will go there first thing in the morning to carry out bin collections. If you live in this area, please put your bin out the night before to ensure it will be emptied by our crews.

This will affect green bin collections on Monday 25th May and Monday 1st June, and brown bin collections on Tuesday 2nd June.

It will take you 30 seconds to drop a used v**e at a recycling point.

When v**es get crushed in general waste or mixed recycling, the batteries can spark. That spark becomes a fire. Sometimes in the truck. Sometimes at the depot.

Follow the link in our bio to find your nearest v**e recycling point. It could be at a supermarket, v**e shop or council site.

Being smart about your v**e starts with knowing the facts – and understanding how to keep yourself and others safe.

You should:
✅ Unplug your v**e once it’s fully charged
♻ Recycle it safely at a designated recycle point near you: a supermarket, v**e shop or council site
🚫 Keep it away from extreme heat or freezing cold temperatures

If you don’t, you could cause your v**e to overheat, leak, or even
start a fire

Changing these small habits can make a big difference.
