PKC Waste Services Team Providing up to date information on domestic and commercial waste services and campaigns across Perth and Kinross.

This account is monitored during our opening hours 8.45am-5.00pm Monday to Friday. We're here to provide information and help householders and businesses with their waste and recycling. We aim to be respectful in our posts and any comments we respond to. We expect the same of all those contributing to our page. We want our page to be safe, friendly and an open place for discussion on all things wa

ste and recycling related. We therefore have the following house rules to help support that:
- All users must comply with the social media platform's terms of use as well as our own terms of use
- We answer enquiries/messages as soon as possible within working hours: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
- We will remove, in whole or in part, posts that we feel are inappropriate – for example bullying or harassment - or discriminatory against any individual or group
- You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content you choose to share
- We will remove messages (where function allows) and report and/or block users on our social media channels who post messages at us which we believe are:
- abusive or obscene
- deceptive or misleading
- in violation of any intellectual property rights, including copyright
- in violation of any law or regulation
- spam and off-topic content
- promotional material

Anyone repeatedly engaging with us using content or language which falls into the above categories will be blocked and/or reported to the associated social media platform. We will not tolerate or respond to abusive messages. We must always remain politically neutral on social media which is why council officers are unable to reply to, endorse or engage with, any content that is of a party political nature. Political issues can be discussed with local councillors.

UPDATE: due to ongoing work, there will be reduced capacity for paper and cardboard at Aberfeldy Recycling Centre until Tuesday 25/08/26. Please take any large amounts of paper and cardboard to Pitlochry Recycling Centre during this time. We will continue to update this post with any new information. Thank you.

Please be aware that Aberfeldy Recycling Centre is getting a new cardboard compactor installed today, Thursday 20/08/26. This may cause some disruption to cardboard recycling at this site. If you have a large amount of cardboard to recycle today, we would suggest taking it to Pitlochry Recycling Centre. Aberfeldy Recycling Centre is open for all other materials as normal.

Did you know there are a lot of unusual foods you can freeze to prevent food waste and save some cash?
These include:
• Nuts
• Bananas (use them in banana bread or smoothies after)
• Ginger
• Fresh Herbs
• Milk (excellent frozen in ice cube trays for hot drinks)
• Whole heads of garlic
• Butter (wrapped tightly)
• Whipped cream

Are you getting rid of a mattress? Is it in good condition?

We have 2 containers at Friarton Recycling Centre for residents to donate their good quality mattresses.

PUSH can also collect mattresses from your home. Please phone their warehouse on 01738 270615 to arrange.

If your mattress:

• Has a fire safety label
• Has no tears
• Is structurally sound
• Is dry

Then please consider donating your mattress and give it a new life! ♻💚

Donated mattresses will be cleaned and sanitised by PUSH and sold in their shop on South Street, Perth. PUSH is a local charity that supports young people who face barriers to employment.
