Change of Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector

Good afternoon everyone,

I wanted to let residents know that I have now moved on from my role as Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector for Evesham and Pershore.

I’d just like to say thank you to residents, town and parish councils, local councillors, businesses, community groups and partner organisations for the support, challenge and engagement over the past three and a half years. There are issues that matter deeply to local communities, and that honest feedback, local information and strong partnership working really do make a difference.

Neighbourhood policing works best when it’s built on those relationships, and I’m genuinely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to speak with me, share information, and support the team.

The handover to a new Inspector has taken place and they will be in touch to introduce themselves in due course.

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Teams remain in place and will continue focusing on visibility, problem-solving and your priorities for policing raised through Neighbourhood Matters, community meetings and day-to-day contact.

Thanks again, and all the very best.

Inspector Dave Wise

We are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the M50 this morning (25 May), in which an eight-day-old baby was taken to hospital.

At around 6.15am, a Peugeot 308 collided with the nearside barrier between Junctions 1 and 2 of the M50.

The driver, a woman in her 30s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. An eight-day-old baby was also taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

A 37-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the moments leading up to it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Pickering by emailing [email protected]

PC Barrett from Evesham B shift response, visited Abbey Park primary school and talked with year 3 about the role of an officer as part of the students’ career aspirations days. The students were full of questions and already had a lot of knowledge about the variety of incidents police respond to and the skills used. The students got stuck in with a search activity in the classroom and were able to find and seize all target items. They then got to try on a variety of kit, see the police car and see their teacher handcuffed!

🚲 Bike Marking Event 🚲

The local Rural Policing Team, alongside our colleague from We Don’t Buy Crime visited Blackminster Middle School today during lunchtime for a successful bike marking event.
Students were invited to bring their bikes to school, and we can’t thank them enough – our officers were kept busy throughout! 👏
Bikes were security marked and registered onto the BikeRegister national database, helping to protect them against theft. Students were also given bike lights and reflective stickers to help keep them safe and visible on the roads.
A big thank you to all the children who attended and took part. It was great to see such a positive turnout!
For those who didn’t manage to bring their bikes this time – don’t worry, we’ll be back again soon at your request 🚔

Your neighbourhood officers have been out on proactive patrols this week, alongside their other duties, targeting burglary and vehicle crime in rural areas.

We’ve carried out high-visibility checks, responded to reports, and taken action against vehicles found to be unlawfully on the road.

The white vehicle pictured was identified in the early hours in suspicious circumstances. Once stopped the vehicle was found to be unlawfully on the road and subsequently seized.

This work is not out of the ordinary but it's important that you are kept informed about policing in your area.

If you see anything suspicious, please report it.

01/05/2026

We know updates like this can be concerning. There is no immediate threat to Pershore and the surrounding area, but the national threat level is now SEVERE. Please stay aware and report anything unusual.
